GMP dairy plant becomes the first Australian and New Zealand infant formula plant to receive Good Manufacturing Practice certification by China Quality Certification Centre (CQC)
Date: 29 November 2013

GMP Dairy Ltd has become the first Australasian company to receive the “Good Manufacturing Practice” (GMP) Certification by China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) for their factories. GMP Dairy which was established in 2009 has been investing heavily in its quality systems to ensure it meets the high standards required for a GMP Certification. In November 2013, after several months of preparation, GMP Dairy undertook a voluntary audit of its premises and quality systems by the officials from CQC. After two weeks of careful examination, GMP Dairy was granted with the GMP Certification.

GMP standard is widely applied to pharmaceutical manufacturing to standardise its equipment, software, quality management system, standard operating procedures and other key aspects of quality. GMP Dairy was granted this certification in part due to its parent company, GMP Pharmaceuticals Limited which has over 20 years experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing in Australia. With its head office in Sydney Australia, GMP Pharmaceuticals Group has three pharmaceutical factories specialising in complementary medicines and dairy supplements. The company’s various products are being sold in major pharmacies and supermarkets in Australia. A large number of them are also exported to over 30 countries and areas all around the world.

Receiving GMP Certification enables GMP Dairy to assure that the production processes, operational environment and ultimately the products are of high quality and do not pose any risk to the consumers or public.
